We are pleased to inform you that since 1 April 2004 we have considerably reduced our tariffs for transportation of 40-24 feet containers by fast trains going from Moscow to Khabarovsk. The project on transportation of goods by rail through the “Moscow-Khabarovsk” route is being realized now (one train every 4-5 days) making an 8% discount available to our existing and new customers. Even at this point of time, our train can transport goods with a limited expiry period, i.e. perishable products, like beer, canned vegetables, etc. Real discounts are offered for transportation of goods from Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as from Khabarovsk to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk (also, to Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk, but in smaller volumes). The STIM Company is constantly working to expand the geography of dispatching goods in its own containers, and to lower its tariffs accordingly. On 1 April 2004 we initiated dispatching of “up to customer’s door” containers in possession of the STIM Company via the Khabarovsk – Korsakov - Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk route, the “through passage rate” (which is lower than the regular Russian railroad rate) being applied. When using this service, customers can pay transportation charges either according to the traditional payment scheme: a sender of goods pays a railroad rate for the Khabarovsk-Vanino transportation, while a receiver of goods bears sea shipment expenses, or customers can choose to effect payment at our “through passage rate”. The same scheme of payment is applied to transportation of goods to Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, including delivery of goods by 40 feet containers. Due to the fact that our cars are equipped with radio electronic communication facilities, we have an opportunity to keep our customers informed of how their order is being executed at any stage of cargo transportation. This also allows us to promptly exchange the related information with the customer, and make necessary adjustments to the transportation operation. The set of services we provide includes freight protection as well as freight escorting – upon a request from the customer. We use 24 - 40 feet containers for transportation of goods by motor transport within the Russian Far East region.
